This home in Portlock was completed in 2018 by S. Tanaka. S. Tanaka worked with the client to design the home to meet the needs of their growing family and housing their extended family. The end result was a 2,500 square foot multi-generational home with 2b/2b in the main house and a 2b/1b in-law suite with wet bar.

This home is located in Kaimuki and is 5100 square feet, with 6 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 wet bar.
The Yamamoto family designed this home so their family of 4 (including 2 young kids) could live with one set of grandparents sharing the same roof. The Yamamotos have a 2 story living space of their own and the grandparents also have a 2 story section for themselves. The house was designed to give each family enough seclusion between each other for added privacy.

This family came to us as a referral from one of our previous clients. They owned a 60 year old home that was only 900 square feet and wanted to make room for themselves and their 2 young kids. There was no need for them to build a multi-generational home, as most of our clientele does, so here they had the opportunity to build a custom designed, single family home.
This home is located on the windward side and is 2700 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It features an open concept kitchen with wood cabinets and granite counter tops.

With single family homes, there is usually more freedom for unique layouts and features. When coming up with the design for their home, the homeowners already knew they had to build a two-story house in order to achieve the amount of interior square footage they wanted, due to their small lot size. They also knew that they wanted an open feel to the inside space, and accomplished this by incorporating vaulted ceilings, glass railings and several glass doors.
The homeowners had met with four different contractors before deciding on us. Their final decision was made due to attending one of our open houses, and having a chance to see the quality of our workmanship firsthand.
