Open House July 13, 2019

S. Tanaka invites you to an open house in Niu Valley on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 from 12pm-5pm by appointment. The featured home is a brand new, 2 story, single family dwelling with a detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).  The main house is a 2,900 sq. ft. home with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, enclosed 2-car garage and a 280 sq. ft covered lanai.  This house was built for a family of 4 with a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor to accommodate for an aging family member to be able to live with them.  

The detached ADU was built as an option for other family members to live in or to be used as a rental unit.  The ADU is 700 sq. ft and has 2 bedrooms, 1-bathroom, full kitchen and indoor laundry.  Accessory dwelling units are small units allowed by the City to help ease Oahu’s housing crunch.   They can be attached to an existing house or detached.  There are requirements that need to be met before one can qualify to build an ADU.  If your lot qualifies for an ADU, it can generate rental income or allow you to downsize by moving into the ADU and renting out your main house.

Portlock Residence

This home in Portlock was completed in 2018 by S. Tanaka. S. Tanaka worked with the client to design the home to meet the needs of their growing family and housing their extended family. The end result was a 2,500 square foot multi-generational home with 2b/2b in the main house and a 2b/1b in-law suite with wet bar.

Open House! May 24, 2015

This home is located in Kaimuki and is 5100 square feet, with 6 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 wet bar.

The Yamamoto family designed this home so their family of 4 (including 2 young kids) could live with one set of grandparents sharing the same roof.  The Yamamotos have a 2 story living space of their own and the grandparents also have a 2 story section for themselves.  The house was designed to give each family enough seclusion between each other for added privacy.

Open House! November 16, 2014

This family came to us as a referral from one of our previous clients.  They owned a 60 year old home that was only 900 square feet and wanted to make room for themselves and their 2 young kids.  There was no need for them to build a multi-generational home, as most of our clientele does, so here they had the opportunity to build a custom designed, single family home.

This home is located on the windward side and is 2700 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  It features an open concept kitchen with wood cabinets and granite counter tops.
